Stacy Beaty, M.D.
In the roping arena he’s just another header. At the hospital he’s Dr. Beaty. He’s an amateur team roper and the only sports medicine fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon at Shannon. He’s great at roping steers, and he’s even better at getting you back in the saddle after a sports injury.
Stacy came to Shannon following training at UT Houston and a fellowship at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas. He chose Shannon because of the quality of medicine they practice. He grew up in Abilene and loves West Texas. He loves how San Angelo is a big town with a small town feel.
Stacy’s always been involved in sports including playing baseball in college. He started roping two years ago. It gives him the opportunity to be outside with family and friends. Gus, an old hand in the roping arena, thinks Stacy shows promise as a roper, but Gus tends to be a little biased. He’s Stacy’s horse.
