Joe Mims, M.D.
To some he’s the boss of the Bar Y Bar. To us he’s Dr. Mims. Joe spent his childhood on ranches in Texas and New Mexico. So it was not unusual that he wanted to be a cattle rancher. Or as he puts it, “Fence builder. Mechanic. Farmer. Cattle rancher.” When not at Shannon he can be found performing the normal boss of a cattle ranch chores: rebuilding a cattle gate, branding calves or carrying feed to the bulls. You know, the glamorous stuff.
Joe is great at working cattle, and he’s even better at spotting a cancer cell that could lasso your life. He bought a ranch in San Angelo for the quality of life the town affords his family. He chose Shannon because they share his values.
