He’s six foot seven and a forward for the Healers. He’s also a primary care physician. He’s Shannon’s own Alexander Minney. He’s one of those rare doctors who has a great jump shot and also makes house calls.
Most days at lunch you can find Alex in a pick up game at the Y. Basketball has always been a big part of his life. Growing up in Ventura, California, he split his time between surfing and basketball. But basketball won out as he played for a Division I school in college.
Alex attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine and did his residency at Louisiana State University Science Center in Alexandria, Louisiana.
Alex chose to come to Shannon to practice medicine because they offered him the opportunity to practice traditional medicine. He enjoys working with patients, and those patients who are too sick to come to his office enjoy the benefits of his house calls.
Alex loves living in San Angelo. He’s developed close friendships here which have allowed him to be become part of a team in the community in the same way he’s part of the Shannon medical team.
